Today marks the launch of our beautiful new addition to the Inked By Kate range. This latest design is a lovely rustic save the date card. It is available as an A6 or A7 card on 280gsm Nettuno paper or as an A7 magnet. Our new design features a string of flowers and handing mason jars along the top with a larger jar of flowers at the bottom. Inked by hand and then coloured with gorgeous pastel pinks, blues and purples this save the date card is perfect for a DIY wedding.
Rustic Pastels is the third piece in our Inked By Kate range. If you like the style but the design isn’t quite what you were after why not have a quick look at the other two in this collection.
Here at Wishful Inking we aim to create the wedding stationery that you truly want to complement your special day. Your invitations or save the date cards are the first impression that your guests will have of your wedding. This means that you should choose which elements of your wedding you want your guests to get a sneak preview of.
Making the right first impression is vital and you don’t want your wedding stationery to feel cheap and flimsy. Luxury
heavy weight cards and papers are the first step to that feeling of quality. Your guests will be holding your stationery in their hands as they look at it and you want them to know this card, that has dropped through their letterbox, is obviously something important and special.
You may choose to share the elegance and splendour of your wedding day with your guests. This can be achieved using rich colours for your stationery or by enhancing elements of the images and text by using foiling. The metallic lettering can really create a focal point for your whole invitation and capture that feeling of elegance and grandeur in the finished look. Our ‘Time Flies’ invitation uses a rich red colour to create a striking contrast to the white of the main card. To really give it that next level of splendour, the gold foiling is used on the Bride and Groom’s names as well as other key elements of the information.
Perhaps you’re having a fun summery wedding and want to give your guests a taste of the sunshine. This can be achieved by using vibrant colours and fun floral motifs. Move away from those traditional calligraphy fonts and bring in something a little more quirky to show off the more playful side of your big day. You can even bring these features in right from your save the date cards too. The soft watercolour feel of our ‘Summer Fun’ magnetic save the date cards really adds to the warm and fun effect of a great day at the beach.
There are so many ways to make a great first impression with your wedding stationery. Why not drop us an email at email@example.com and find out how we can help.

So this week we have launched the first design from our brand new ‘Inked By Kate’ range, but who is Kate?
Kate is a wonderful freelance illustrator who has teamed up with us to create some stunning new wedding stationery designs. She has a degree in animation and aspires to a career in book illustration.
This is the first of Kate’s designs to be featured on our website and it is an absolutely gorgeous printed flat wedding invitation called ‘Fascinating Florals’. The watercolour style floral sprays make this invitation wonderfully elegant while the bright colours keep a relaxed and fun feel to the whole thing.
This is intended to be the first of many for the ‘Inked By Kate’ range so do keep your eyes peeled on our shop and our Facebook for more updates!
We are also excited to announce that there are some new Wedding Fayre dates marked on our map, so check if you’re free and pop along to say ‘hello’!
Also this week we bring you the release of our ‘Summer Fun‘ Save the Date collection. These vibrant watercolour washes look fantastic as magnets and are the perfect way to remind your guests that they need to save your wedding date. Available in four different colours these Save the Dates are now on sale in our shop.
We have so much more to bring you over the coming weeks and months! It is an exciting time for Wishful Inking.
These gorgeous Blue Swish Save the Date cards were designed quite traditionally. Emma started with some blue and purple inks. Starting with one colour she practised creating the gentle waves across paper. When she became happy with her technique she took an A6 card and painted the swishes in both colours, building them up until she was happy. The finished swishes were allowed to dry before we scanned the design in and began adding text.
We wanted to keep the text quite simple. The purple brush style lettering was added as a last minute detail as it just needed a little more.
As with most of our save the date cards this design can be printed onto 180gsm Nettuno card which has a lovely high quality feel to it and just a small amount of texture or they can be printed as A7 magnets. The magnets are a wonderful way of presenting your save the date cards as they can be stuck straight onto the fridge or a magnetic whiteboard planner.
